Itinerary
Day 1 : Marrakech – Tizi Mzik – Azib Tamsoult – Tizi Oussem
Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil, then Trek up to the top of Tizi Mzik (2489m). Descend to Azib Tamsoult summer houses via the Ighouliden waterfalls then go down to Azzaden valley, Tizi Oussem village overnight at Berber guest house.
Day 2: Tizi Oussem – Azzaden valley – Tizi Oudid – Agrsiwal – Imlil
After breakfast descend to a Berber village of Ait Aissa and return via Tizi Oudite 2200m mountain pass to the village of Malat and Agersioual at 1600m for lunch. Then continue to Imlil village where you will spend a night in guest house.
Day 3: Imlil-Ouarzazate-Dades gorge
Depart from Imlil village at 0800 in modern, air conditioned transportation. Travel over the Atlas mountains, enjoying the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside below. Visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. Continue to Ouarzazate for lunch break in the local cafe’s & sightseeing. Continue along the route of The Dades Valley and overnight in a guesthouse (Private ensuite rooms). An evening meal and breakfast are included
Day 4: Dades gorge-Todra gorge-Merzouga (Erg Chabi).
Next morning, continue along the Dades valley, visiting Dades Gorge, Todra Gorge and other interesting sites, en route to Merzouga. At Merzouga, explore the village and then meet our Camels for a 1 1/2 and a half hour into the dunes to reach our desert camp at Erg Chebbi. Each person rides their own Camel . Enjoy the sun setting over the landscape from the top of the Dunes. On arrival at the Desert camp, spend the evening under the stars, on the dunes and beside the warmth of the fireside. Enjoy a locally cooked meal of Tagine or couscous (vegetarians are catered for with vegetable tagine), a drum party and story swapping. The camp has toilet facilities. Those that wish to can sleep directly under the stars, but there are bivouacs for everyone.
Day 5 : Merzouga Erg Chabi Back To Marrakech.
Wake before sunrise, and watch the sun rise wile heading back to Merzouga by camel On reaching Merzouga, have breakfast and the opportunity to shower before beginning a journey through the stony desert and over the Atlas mountains. Plenty of stops for photos, exploring and lunch as we return to Marrakech. The usual arrival time in Marrakech is between 17:00hrs and 18:00hrs.
